So! The twinners had their birthday party! I now have two, two-year olds! Heaven help me!

There party was really sweet :) AND I'm gonna share all the deets with you :) You're welcome! SO... First things first... Here are some pictures from the party :)

My amazing neighbour Katie, gave me the idea to decorate the candle-she got that from pinterest. Let's all just take a moment to be grateful for pinterest. Ok. Thanks. But seriously, how cute did that '2' turn out!?

CUPCAKES: Ok- For real... The cupcakes were to die for. Like we're talking some cupcakes you could serve to the queen. And they were super easy to make. Here is the recipe - how ever thanks to my awesome friend Claire, i substituted Greek yogurt for the sour cream. Click here for the recipe-you won't regret it. ALSO i currently live on a small island in the Caribbean so i was worried about the icing melting of the cupcakes and looking nasty. THIS is the recipe i used for the icing. UM. Hold the phone. I just reread that recipe and i totally thought it said corn syrup. It says cornstarch. So just so you know i used corn syrup and it worked wonderfully... so good luck! If you use the cornstarch let me know how that works our for you.
TUTU CRAFT: How cute is that ballerina handprint craft?! It's really cute. Any guesses where i got that idea? If you guess pinterest, you are correct.

This was the invite :) CUTE RIGHT!?! I designed it on My Digital Studio program, printed it off, added some tulle and ribbon :) then matted it on dark pink glitter card stock/pearl finished light pink card stock. A similar version for you to print out and use as an invite if you so desire can be found HERE. It's free and you're welcome :) I did 2 versions of the invite. The first is says, "Dance and twirl with the birthday girl" The second says, "Dance and twirl with the birthday girls" - just incase you have twins like me :) Or heck, maybe you have triplets or more! Good on ya! Props to you!

Are these adorable? Or are these adorable? I saw these "magic wands'" on Pinterest... You could dress them up how ever: dip the marshmallows in white chocolate, add sprinkles.. what ever.

TuTutorial ;)

Alright. I know, this tutu wreath is adorbs. Found it on... yup, pinterst. I couldn't find a really good tutorial so i decided to make my own for ya. You're welcome ;)

Materials:

scissors

tulle (spools are easiest) - how ever many colours you want. How much tulle you need will depend on the size of your base..mine was small, i used 2 different colours of tulle and i still had left overs.

something to use as the base for your wreath-it's slim pickins over here so i just used an ice-cream bucket lid. I just cut out the centre and used the rim. My middle name is frugal. Actually it's not... but anyways...

Ribbon

1. OK so start by cutting a bunch of pieces of tulle. The spools of tulle come in fixed widths, so that's handy. As far as the length goes, it will depend on the thickness of your base- so experiment with the first piece and go from there. Cut a bunch then tie, then cut more and tie more.. till you're done.

2. Take a piece of tulle, fold it over your finger as shown in the second picture above. Place it under the base of the wreath so that the loop part is on the outside of the base and the loose ends are in the base...

3. Put two fingers in through the loop and grab the lose ends, pull the loose ends through the looped end and pull tight. Voila.

4. Repeat and repeat.

Birthday party friends :)

Well i sure hope you enjoy these printables... and i hope you and your little one/s enjoy their tutu-totally awesome birthday party. What a fun mom you are! We played freeze dance at the beginning of the party... you know, the game where they dance when the music is on then freeze when it stops- make sure you use ballerina music! OH and we played pin the bun on the ballerina...

Just draw a wicked awesome ballerina on a poster board... cut out some hair buns (from paper ;) ) and VOILA!

I also had two of my ballet students come to the party and do a mini ballet lesson. The girls LOVED it! And.. i bet a young ballet student in your aren would LOVE the opportunity to do something like this! My students are sisters, age 10 and 6 - They did a really cute job.

Here's that ballerina craft again.. i just used foam board... i couldn't believe that i found that here on this island! So happy. The little girls loved this too. Add some jewels or flowers to the body suit.

HOLA! Well another wonderful Saturday conference session has past... The last talk of the Saturday afternoon session was on missionary work by Elder Russell M. Nelson. His catch phrase this time was, "Catch the Wave." All I could think about during his talk was about how many printables there would be upcoming on pinterest of "Catching the wave." So i said to myself, "Hey! Why don't you make one?!" So here she is....
